Training

Depending on the club, gymnasts usually train in a plain leotard and bike shorts (usually black) and wear their hair tied back neatly in a simple bun.

To begin with, you have to warm up your body before stretching. This may include running, skipping or strength.

 

Stretching

Many people and clubs have different stretches that they believe will work best. The most common ones include:

Pike, straddle, splits and back stretches. If you need some ideas then have a look on youtube or ask around.

The more you do it, the easier it will be and you will find yourself much more flexible in no time.

As you progress you will try new stretches and use props such as chairs or therabands to stretch even more.
